X,

can i get a light?
camel light by
candle light
i wonder

if you ever think
this silence is
about you

sixteen years old
outside the beauty
parlor with freshly cut
bangs feeling badass
and Brand New

mean stomping around
yr cookie cutter town
waiting for it all
to crumble, fast

forward down dive-bar alleys
beat boxing in the East Village
on Saint Patty's -baby
girl/boy
grr girls &
boys

like long drives
through mountains
where you made me
realize in my life

"i want to be the person
that decides where to clear
bush and brushes
so passer-byes can
see the scenery unfolding"

and i ask my self:
why the fuck am i in college?

to meet you, of course
to grow together and separate,
surrounded by our distances

its never too late to undress
the last hook up
skinny dip, flip -Flop
take a shit in my bathroom

for all i care
call me up anytime
and i will cross half the state
just for kicks and long drives

to think about nothing,
or all of our friends

of them
you put the X on my map

and then she said, "you're the best." and you danced to neighborhood #3, blasting from car speakers, in a quarter-full rest stop parking lot, somewhere near boston.
